We can stop the worst effects of global warming
if we have more efficient factories,
homes and offices that reduce energy waste and
produce cars with higher gas mileage
and using cleaner technologies.
Increase energy efficiency
The key to solving the global warming must be global energy efficiency.
We manufacture light bulbs, refrigerators and buildings that use 80 percent
less energy than conventional design. And every kilowatt hour you do not
use means less pollution.
Build better cars
The best hybrids already in use decrease global warming pollution and consume 50 percent less fuel than conventional vehicles. Every year new hybrids are designed to reduce emisions and are more efficient every time with cheaper batteries. Very soon we will have results. Our scope hybrid can travel 30 to 40 miles on electricity before requiring fuel. We can reduce our thirst for oil even more if we encourage contractors to design communities that allow us to walk instead of using our cars.
Go to renewable energy and biofuels
Renewable energy is advantageous for companies, cost-competitive issue and is ready to serve a significant segment of the nation's energy needs.Each year the energy provided by wind increase a 30 percent, making it the option of providing more growth in the United States. Fuels like ethanol made from corn, wild grass and corn stalks, can meet a growing fraction of our fuel needs. In 2050, renewable energy and biofuels could provide much of our energy needs.
Remove carbon from fossil fuels
Among the fossil fuels coal is the one with higher carbon content. The reduction in coal use through energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies is the key solution to global warming. However, the fact is that in the coming years is likely to build hundreds of plants coal-based power worldwide. We must insist that these new plants use innovative technology to remove and store the carbon in a safe manner. California has set the pace in this direction by requiring that any new plant to be built does not emit more pollution that causes global warming than a highly efficient unit from natural gas.

What we must do now is to implement these solutions and to avoid contaminating more fresh water (since when it is contaminated and is not edible), which could be used for domestic consumption.
