In the last weeks of December, it is already a tradition for students, families and staff of the school to come together to raise funds and food for those most in need.
Since the beginning of the month, food and basic necessities have been collected in each classroom. Thanks to the efforts of all the families, we have managed to collect 140 liters of oil, 150 liters of sugar, 225 packages of legumes, 190 cans of preserves, 100 jars of cocoa and 420 hygiene products Household and personal expenses. All of this will go to the families they serve. Caritas and those that help ACOMARAssociation for the support of marginalized people in Alicante.
On the other hand, various fundraising activities have been carried out, such as a charity raffle, the sale of artisanal cookies, a lottery, and a euro marathon. In total, the amount raised has reached 1448 Euroswhich will be donated to the NGO Rafiki Africa, with which Lope de Vega collaborates for the maintenance of the school they have in Uganda.
In addition, this year we have also collaborated with the Animal Protection from the Marina Baixa with the donation of 130 blankets.
A set of actions that have been complemented with classroom activities to work on the values of solidarity, camaraderie and friendship that take on special relevance at this time of year.
