On April 3rd, the second LDV Solidarity Walk took place under the motto "together we go further". Following the success of its first edition, this second event has been further solidified with broad participation from the student body.
The proposal involved a symbolic march around the school's sports fields by the students. The students also sang a song they had composed especially for the occasion. In the weeks leading up to the march, students purchased race numbers by contributing a voluntary amount starting at €1. The funds raised will go to the Rafiki Carmen Pérez González School , whose teachers are funded by the Lope de Vega International School.
Symbolic march for Rafiki Africa
The symbolic march in support of Rafiki Africa is organized by the LDV Solidarity Youth Club and aims to continue raising awareness among students about existing inequalities in order to empower them to be active agents in the world they live in.
With this action, the Lope de Vega school is once again keeping the students of the Rafiki Carmen Pérez González School very much in mind, as they travel an average of 160 minutes round trip to attend classes daily . The symbolic march represents the journey, effort, and daily commitment of the students in Uganda.
The objective, in addition to raising awareness, has been to collect funds that will be allocated to the social action carried out by the NGO Rafiki Africa in Uganda.
Through activities like this, we foster important qualities such as cooperation, collaboration, healthy living, persistence, respect for the environment, commitment, and effort.
